Pre-trial detention ordered after searches in Lagoa turned up synthetic drugs, heroin and cash.
Police in Portugal’s Azores detained a 49-year-old man in the municipality of Lagoa, on the island of São Miguel, over suspected drug trafficking, seizing 318 doses of synthetic drugs.
The PSP said the suspect was arrested in the parish of Rosário. Investigators carried out search warrants, leading to the detention and the seizure of a total of 318 doses of synthetic drugs, seven doses of heroin, 265 euros in cash and a mobile phone.
After judicial questioning, prosecutors applied the harshest pre-trial coercive measure, pre-trial detention, according to the PSP.
The case remains at the pre-trial stage, with the suspect held under pre-trial detention while the investigation proceeds.
