Police in Nazaré arrested three men to send them to prison after detention warrants were issued in separate court cases, PSP said in a statement. The youngest, aged 32, had a pending 70-day subsidiary prison term linked to driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released after paying the full outstanding amount of 385 euros. A 45-year-old man was taken to the Caldas da Rainha prison to serve four months of effective imprisonment for theft in a motor vehicle. A 58-year-old was also jailed, facing one year and two months for simple fraud. The PSP added that two other detention warrants were still outstanding for additional sentences of nine and five months, with inquiries tied to other judicial processes. The detainees were placed in custody to comply with the courts’ decisions, PSP said, after the arrests were carried out by its district command.
