PSP detains 55-year-old suspected of vehicle thefts in Lagos
Police recover almost all stolen items, including tools and electronics.
Police in Lagos detained a 55-year-old man suspected of stealing from vehicles and recovered almost all items reported stolen, including electronic equipment and tools.
The PSP said officers were called at about 22:00 on 2 November to a report of a theft from a parked car. Shortly after, they received information about a second incident nearby, involving a man inside another vehicle.
Officers moved quickly to the second location and found the suspect inside the car. He had allegedly already dismantled the car radio and was placing construction equipment into a bag.
The PSP arrested the man and began checks to determine whether he was connected to the earlier theft. Investigators then went to the place where the detainee reportedly slept and found multiple items taken from the first vehicle.
Recovered goods included a laptop, a car radio, an external battery, a solar charger, and various personal items, along with additional equipment and tools. The PSP said some items were of significant value.
After the arrest, the suspect was brought before a court, which ordered weekly appearances at the police station in the area of his home.
