PSP seizes 1,300 drug doses in Porto and Gondomar
Five arrests, including a case with 201 cocaine doses and 402 doses of cocaine
Police from PSP detained five people in Porto and Gondomar and seized more than 1,300 doses of drugs during operations targeting suspected drug trafficking.
Between 12 and 13 October, four of the arrests were linked to drug suspicions. In the Porto area of Rua Doutor Pinheiro Torres, three people were detained within a few hours, while other arrests took place in Rio Tinto, at Avenida Dr. Francisco Sá Carneiro, and near the Porto Circunvalação.
The first suspect, a 39-year-old man, was intercepted at 22:05 on 12 October. PSP found 201 doses of cocaine, 37 doses of heroin and 32.87 euros in cash.
At 22:30, a 41-year-old woman was detained on the same street. She had 402 doses of cocaine, 248 doses of heroin and 530.45 euros.
In the early hours of 13 October, a 44-year-old man was stopped with 27 doses of cocaine and 219 doses of heroin, along with 477.67 euros.
A fourth drug-related arrest happened on 13 October in Rio Tinto, on Avenida Dr. Francisco Sá Carneiro. The court ordered weekly court appearances and prohibited him from contacting neighbourhoods linked to drug dealing.
Also on 13 October, at 04:20, a 34-year-old man was detained on Estrada da Circunvalação in Porto after an alert about a theft in progress. PSP said he scaled a wall, removed metal roof tiles and entered the establishment via the roof. Nearby, two electrical cables worth about 500 euros were found hidden inside a mobile rubbish bin.
All five people were brought before the judicial authorities. Three drug suspects were subject to periodic court appearances at frequencies set by the court, and the man linked to the theft was placed in pre-trial detention.
