Police arrest 2 men in Puertollano after repeated burglary
The homeowner called 091 after the thieves returned the day after an earlier theft.
Police in Puertollano, Ciudad Real, have arrested two men suspected of a burglary of a home that was carried out twice in consecutive days.
The homeowner reported a robbery at his residence on the first day, when tools and personal items were stolen. The next day, he spotted the same two suspects inside again and called immediately to 091 for help.
During the call, he provided real-time information about one of the assailants’ location to the officer on the line. Police units arrived quickly and arrested one suspect at the scene. Investigators later identified and detained the second man.
Officers seized a vehicle the suspects used to help climb over a wall, and part of the material stolen the previous day was still inside. The homeowner recognized the items as his own without doubt.
The investigation also found that some of the stolen objects were sold at a scrap yard in Miguelturra, Ciudad Real, for more than 600 euros. Police say the sale involved the help of a minor’s girl, the partner of one of those arrested.
Both men were charged with a continuing offence of burglary with force in a home. One suspect was also accused in relation to road safety, because he was driving the vehicle without a driving licence. They were taken before a judge.
