A driver in Riel crashed off the road on the Kwadehoek between Tilburg and Riel, ramming multiple trees after missing a bend at high speed. Police, the fire brigade and an ambulance were called to the scene in the night from Friday to Saturday. The impact caused several trees to break and land on the car. The driver was injured and was treated on site by ambulance staff. She was then taken into police custody for further investigation. Firefighters cut away several branches to make the area safe. The car was badly damaged. Investigators are looking into how the driver managed to miss the bend.
