Car drug handoff in Sassuolo leads to cocaine seizure and arrest
Police found 6.4 grams of cocaine, plus cash and packaging material, after the drop on a city street.
A 21-year-old suspected drug dealer was arrested in Sassuolo after car-to-street handoffs of cocaine, the Carabinieri said.
Officers in plain clothes spotted a suspicious vehicle on Via Radici in Piano and followed it until the driver approached a man waiting by the pavement. After a brief conversation, the driver handed over a small package through a half-open window in exchange for money, prompting an intervention.
During searches, police found four additional cocaine packages on the suspect. The drugs weighed 6.4 grams gross, and officers also seized 235 euros in cash and packaging material used to prepare doses.
The arrest was the second operation in the city in a week. Earlier, another alleged pusher had been detained in Via dell’Artigianato in the industrial area on the edge of Sassuolo, with 7 cocaine packets seized, totaling 4.5 grams gross, along with about 500 euros in cash.
The investigation is ongoing, and the 21-year-old remains under arrest following the Carabinieri operation.
