A 36-year-old wanted man born in Shkodra has been provisionally arrested in Spain as part of an operation to secure his extradition to Albania. The man, identified as AN, is accused of firing an automatic firearm in March 2022, with allegedly weak motives, at a property owned by SS in the Skenderbeg neighborhood, causing material damage. Investigators say the case moved forward after information was received from State Police structures and exchanged in time with Interpol Madrid, finalizing another phase of the operation codenamed “The Wanted”. In 2022, the Shkodra Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction imposed the security measure “Arrest in prison” for the offenses of murder, attempted, and illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition. Interpol Tirana continues to cooperate with Interpol Madrid to complete the extradition procedure of the 36-year-old to Albania.
