Slovenian police officers took part in the 64th Agra International Agricultural and Food Fair, held from 22 to 26 August 2026 at the exhibition centre in Gornja Radgona. Franci Matoz, Minister for the Interior and Public Administration, and Mitja Jager, Assistant Director-General of the Police, visited the police booth. They watched the police presentation and said they were satisfied that police remain present at the annual agricultural event. The fair provided an opportunity for officers to engage directly with members of the public, exchange information and raise awareness on road safety, safety in rural areas and the safety and protection of people’s property. Across the five days, many visitors stopped by the police stand. Attendees were able to view a police patrol motorbike, try “drunk goggles” that simulate the effects of alcohol on a person’s abilities, and take a breathalyser test. The police said the youngest visitors were especially impressed by the motorbike, with parents taking photos at the exhibit. A key part of the event focused on crime prevention on farms. A criminal police investigator was available throughout the fair to advise visitors on preventive measures intended to protect crops, livestock and other property from theft. Police also used the booth to provide information about studying and employment opportunities, including enrolment to the Police College, noting that the deadline for the second application was 27 August.
