Police arrested a 20-year-old Bellaria Igea Marina man after officers found cocaine and cash during a drug operation. Carabinieri say the suspect was caught in the town centre as he allegedly sold one dose of cocaine to a 41-year-old coming from Cesena. During the checks, officers also seized 30 doses of cocaine hidden in the pockets of a jacket the young man kept at home. In the bedroom wardrobe, they found cash totalling 2,780 euros, which prosecutors’ case file links to alleged proceeds from dealing. The drugs and the money were placed under seizure. The investigation was carried out by the Carabinieri Station in Bellaria Igea Marina as part of routine territorial patrols aimed at countering drug dealing. The buyer was identified and reported to the Rimini Prefecture as a person taking drugs for personal use. Investigators will now try to map the suspect’s contacts to determine how long the alleged street dealing may have been going on. The young man was arrested on charges of possession for the purpose of drug dealing. After being made available to the judicial authority, a judge ordered him to home detention while the case proceeds in a direct trial hearing.
