German police near Stuttgart have detained a man suspected of organising an arson attack on a Starlink satellite internet station in Poland, prosecutors in Stuttgart said. Special forces arrested the suspect in Reutlingen and seized eight mobile phones, ammunition and other evidence. The man holds Turkish citizenship. Prosecutors said two other people were detained earlier in connection with the case, and they are also Turkish citizens. They are in custody in Germany, awaiting extradition to Poland. Investigators suspect the man planned a terror-linked offence. Baden-Wurttemberg’s state criminal police office (LKA) said he ordered two men to carry out the arson attack. The fire broke out on 23 September at about 21:10 at a ground station of the satellite internet network in Wola Krobowska, in Mazovian Voivodeship. The station is operated by Poland’s state telecom company Exatel, which co-runs similar infrastructure in Lithuania and helps provide internet connectivity across Central and Eastern Europe, including for Ukraine. Firefighters quickly put out the flames and no one was reported injured. The suspect is also the subject of a separate domestic preliminary proceeding. He is being held in Germany while extradition steps move forward.
