Stolen dogs have been seized by Gardaí in the Kilkenny area after searches over the past week, and one of the animals has already been reunited with its owner. As part of Operation Thor, Gardaí carried out searches at locations on the outskirts of Kilkenny City and seized a number of dogs believed to have been stolen during rural burglaries across the county in recent months. During the searches, Gardaí also seized a quantity of stolen equipment, including a horse trailer, equine equipment and gardening equipment worth about €15,000. To date, two owners of the stolen property have been identified. The seized dogs are being cared for by an animal rescue charity. Gardaí and a vet are currently working to reunite the other dogs with their owners. The investigation status of those responsible was not reported, and the matter remains ongoing for Gardaí as they continue the reunification efforts and associated inquiries.
