Police arrested a suspect after several businesses were broken into in Echternach, including an attempted burglary at a grocery store where a window was smashed. The incidents came to light after police were informed in the early hours of 30 October about a suspected break-in at a shop in Rue de Luxembourg. Officers then found that other nearby businesses had also suffered damage at their entrances. Investigators said the suspect or suspects managed to get into one of the shops and stole clothing. A suspect was later identified during the investigation and was detained soon after. Police recovered and seized several items of clothing. The suspect was arrested on the order of the public prosecutor.
