A 15-year-old was arrested after police caught him in the act of breaking into a car in 1160 Vienna, Kendlerstraße, near the Gutraterplatz. The incident was reported at 00:05 on 25.10.2026. The victim spotted the suspected offender during the break-in and held him briefly before a short chase ended with his arrest. Police dog unit officers were drawn to the scene by the scuffle and moved in immediately. Officers from the City Police Command Ottakring carried out the temporary arrest. Two other suspects, whose identities were not given, fled the area. A search of the arrested teenager found no stolen items, and he was later questioned. After the interrogation, the 15-year-old was released on bail and charged for the break-in. Investigations are ongoing.
