A 19-year-old man from Teplyk has been told he is suspected of helping arrange illegal border transfers, with a planned route leading to Romania. Investigators say the suspect used his own car to move a person from Teplyk, in Haisyn district, to one of Ukraine’s western regions for a further “transfer.” Prosecutors say the scheme was priced as a “package of services” worth $5,300. To reduce the risk of checks during the trip, the suspect allegedly studied the route in advance, tracked the locations of checkpoints and border units, and planned the next steps. The allegation is that the man supported illegal transportation of people across the state border of Ukraine, allegedly acting as part of a group by prior agreement and for financial gain. Under the charge, he faces up to nine years in prison with confiscation of property. Prosecutors from Haisyn district led the case, while officers from Police Unit No. 1 of the Haisyn District Police Department informed the suspect of the suspicion under Part 3 of Article 332 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. The investigation is ongoing, with the man currently at the stage of being suspected and charged under the criminal provision described by prosecutors.
