Greek authorities arrested three suspects in Thessaloniki and seized 3.5 kilograms of cannabis and 120 grams of cocaine from a drug trafficking network allegedly targeting minors. Investigators said the group used messaging applications popular with young people to provide instructions for buying drugs and making payments in cryptocurrency. The suspects allegedly ran an organised distribution operation, with members assigned to specific areas to fill delivery requests quickly. Authorities also described concealment techniques used to evade surveillance. Police coordinated the operation through specialised analysis of the suspects’ profiles. Officers began by arresting an 18-year-old man and seizing 3.5 kilograms of cannabis. Investigators then arrested two more Greek nationals, aged 25 and 30, after undercover infiltration. Officers posed as prospective buyers during the operation. Searches of the suspects’ homes recovered equipment linked to organised drug trafficking, including precision scales and a device for processing cryptocurrency payments. The three suspects appeared before the competent prosecutor under the flagrante delicto procedure. Authorities said the investigation continues to identify and dismantle remaining cells of the organisation.
