Three arrested after Garda chase of stolen car on Dublin’s M50
A helicopter and armed unit backed the stop, with three held under Section 4.
Three males have been arrested in West Dublin after a Garda chase of a stolen car on the M50, with a helicopter and the armed support unit deployed to help end the pursuit.
Gardaí spotted the vehicle shortly after 7pm on Sunday while patrolling near the Naul Road by Dublin Airport as part of a continuing investigation into multiple burglaries. A coordinated response was launched across Dublin units, including air support and the armed support unit.
The Volkswagen Golf was reported stolen during a recent burglary in the Santry area. The car was later brought to a stop on the M50 near Clondalkin, where three males were arrested, two in their 20s and one juvenile in his mid-teens.
All three were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda stations in north Dublin. The car has been recovered and is now being brought in for technical examination.
The investigation into the burglaries is continuing.
