A 31-year-old Turkish man wanted for murder in North Macedonia has been arrested at the Morina border crossing as he tried to enter Albania. Border police at Morina, working with Interpol Tirana, captured Burak Kocagurbuz, with checks confirming he was internationally wanted by Macedonian authorities. The verifications tied the case to a murder offense, and a decision was issued on October 27, 2026 by the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje. After the arrest, specialists from the Serious Crimes Investigation Section at the Kukes Local Police Directorate carried out procedures for his custody with a view to extradition to North Macedonia. Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with its Macedonian counterparts, is continuing the extradition process.
