Dorset men jailed for laundering £152,378 and £88,737
Shane David Manny Chapman and Christopher James Mills were sentenced after Dorset Police charged them with money laundering.
Shane David Manny Chapman and Christopher James Mills have been jailed after a Dorset Police investigation into money laundering.
Chapman, 36, of Verwood, was sentenced to three years and four months for laundering £152,378, derived from criminal property, between January 2022 and February 2024. Mills, 37, of Ringwood, was given two years and 10 months for laundering £88,737 from criminal property over the same period.
Both men were arrested in February 2024 on suspicion of money laundering, contrary to Section 327 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, following an investigation by Dorset Police’s Serious Organised Crime Team.
After further enquiries, Chapman and Mills were charged. They pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday 5 November 2026.
The court also granted Serious Crime Prevention Orders, SCPOs, against both defendants. The orders will take effect on their release from custody and are intended to restrict and disrupt future criminal activity.
Detective Constable Ade Stocker said money laundering helps criminality by disguising the origins of criminal funds, and that Dorset Police would continue to identify, disrupt and prosecute those handling criminal property. Anyone with information about suspected money laundering or organised criminality was urged to contact Dorset Police or Crimestoppers anonymously.
The case has moved from investigation and charging to sentencing, with the men currently serving their custodial terms and the SCPOs set to apply after release.
