Police arrested two suspects after attempted thefts in Schifflange and Mamer on Tuesday. In Schifflange, in the industrial area Auf Herbett, a suspect threw a rucksack containing stolen goods over a business fence while an accomplice waited on the other side to catch it and drive away. Officers found the two men not far from the scene and recovered the rucksack, which had been stocked mainly with technical equipment. The suspects were taken before an examining magistrate at the request of the public prosecutor’s office. Later the same day, around midday in Mamer on Rue de Kehlen, two men entered a home through the terrace and moved toward the kitchen door. The residents, a man and a woman, let them in because tradespeople were expected. Once inside, one suspect embraced the homeowners while one took the resident’s phone and the other stole a wallet from the kitchen. The pair then fled in a grey car toward Rue de Arlon. No one was injured, and an investigation is ongoing in the Mamer case.
