Two young men from Vushtrri were arrested by Albanian police at Morina after German authorities put them on an INTERPOL wanted list. The suspects, aged 22 and 24 and residents of Vushtrri, were picked up during intensive border checks as part of the “Wanted” operation. Germany’s request is tied to a case heard by the Erfurt Court on 01.06.2026, where each man was sentenced to 15 years in prison. They were convicted for robbery with violence committed in collaboration and for property damage, offences set out in the German Criminal Code. Albanian Morinë Border Police Services said Interpol Wiesbaden, Germany, issued the international warrant, and Interpol Tirana worked with German counterparts to move the extradition process forward. The men were arrested in Morina specifically for extradition purposes. The investigation is still ongoing as authorities work to finalize the transfer to Germany.
