German federal police arrested a 38-year-old Ukrainian man in Trier city centre on Monday after confirming an Interpol arrest warrant. The suspect was taken into custody after allegedly unlawfully entering Germany from Luxembourg by coach, authorities said. He was detained on suspicion of aggravated bodily harm involving the use of a firearm. German officials also said he is subject to extradition proceedings requested through Interpol. After a hearing before an investigating judge, the man was transferred to a local prison to await the extradition process.
