Former longtime deputy of Prague’s Central Military Hospital (ÚVN) Zdeněk Brabec rejected in court claims that he used forged lustration certificates to win a higher military rank and a job role. Brabec appeared before the court in Prague on Thursday. He also admitted that two years before the Velvet Revolution he was a member of the State Security. The case concerns allegations of fraud connected to lustration paperwork. Prosecutors say the certificates were not genuine and were used to secure advancement in both military standing and employment. Latest, the matter remains in court, with Brabec denying that he used forged documents and addressing the accusations directly.
