Vienna police arrested a 47-year-old man after a dangerous threat on the Landstraßer Hauptstraße, where he allegedly drew a seemingly real firearm during an argument. The incident was reported on 17.10.2026 at 20:30 in 1030 Wien. Witnesses called police after seeing a loud dispute between a passer-by and a taxi driver. An alarm was raised when an apartment resident, disturbed by the noise, shouted from a balcony towards the man. Police allege the suspect then pulled a weapon and aimed at the 45-year-old. Officers from Polizeiinspektion Juchgasse stopped the alleged attacker shortly afterwards. During a search, they found a blank-firing pistol, Schreckschusspistole, along with ammunition. Police also seized a small amount of suspected narcotics, believed to be cocaine. Because the man already had a weapons ban in place, he was taken into custody. He was provisionally arrested and reported for dangerous threats, along with violations under the Weapons Act and the Narcotics Act. The investigation is ongoing as police process the case following the seizure and arrest.
