Vienna police stopped a 10-year-old near Bahnhof Jedlersdorf during a targeted operation against illegal pyrotechnic items. The stop took place on 29 October 2026 at 15:15 in Vienna-Floridsdorf. Officers asked the boy about pyrotechnics, and he immediately admitted that he had such items and opened his backpack. Inside, police found 25 pyrotechnic items in category F2. They also seized a deodorant spray can with a pyrotechnic device attached to it using tape. The boy gave inconsistent statements about where the items came from. Police seized the pyrotechnics and the spray can, then reported the case and handed the 10-year-old over to his legal guardians.
