Two security employees at a food store in Vienna-Favoriten say they spotted a man taking two pallets of drink cans through the checkout area without paying, then trying to leave. Police report the employees stopped the suspected thief. During the detention, the man allegedly swung at them and tried to break free. The security employees were injured, but they refused treatment by the rescue service. A 28-year-old suspect, whose case is tied to Vienna public prosecution, admitted the theft to officers but denied using violence. Police therefore carried out the arrest and took him into temporary custody. The suspect remains in police custody as the case is processed.
