A 45-year-old man allegedly threatened his family with killing them in Vienna, triggering a police intervention and a restraining order. The incident happened on 25.10.2026 at 16:35 in 1050 Vienna. Police say the man then got into a physical altercation with his 16-year-old son in their shared home. Officers placed the suspect under provisional arrest and issued a ban on entering the home and approaching the family, as well as a temporary weapons ban. Investigators learned the 45-year-old had reportedly consumed larger amounts of alcohol before the incident. During questioning, the man said he could not remember what happened. After coordination with the Vienna public prosecutor’s office, police filed a report while the suspect was released. The case remains under investigation, police said.
