Police arrest three men in Vienna after drug seizure and raid
A 21-year-old was preliminarily detained as officers found drugs and items to sell them.
Three men were arrested in Vienna after officers stopped them in a stairwell and found drugs, police said.
The incident happened on 30.10.2026 at 06:20 in Vienna-Floridsdorf, after a woman in a multi-unit building called the police emergency number. Unidentified people allegedly tried to force a neighbour’s apartment door.
When officers arrived, they stopped three men aged 20, 23 and 26 in the stairwell, based on the description given by the witness. The men said they were worried about a friend inside his apartment, claiming he had consumed drugs and might be experiencing a medical emergency.
During questioning, the three men gave inconsistent and unconvincing statements. The 26-year-old then had a small plastic bag with white powder fall from his trouser pocket. Police searched the men and seized two plastic bags of suspected drugs, consumption-related utensils, and various prescription tablets. The men were reported under Austria’s Narcotic Substances Act.
Officers then forced the apartment door open. Inside, they found a sleeping 21-year-old and woke him after repeated loud instructions. At the kitchen table, police found a wrapped block with white powder. They also seized multiple small packaged plastic bags containing white powder, tablets, several mobile phones, cash in small denominations, and other items used for selling drugs. An airsoft weapon was also found and secured.
The 21-year-old tenant was preliminarily arrested, and a provisional ban on weapons was ordered. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office, North branch, took over further investigations. The 21-year-old refused to make a statement and was shown on bail on orders from the Vienna public prosecutor’s office.
