Police from the Stadtpolizeikommando Liesing arrested a 21-year-old man after he resisted officers during an operation in 1230 Vienna, Altmannsdorf, in the early hours of 24 October 2026. Officers were called to a flat after reports of a loud dispute. At the scene, the resident acted aggressively and refused to cooperate, according to police. His girlfriend told police she had been beaten by him before the call. During the handling, the suspected man became increasingly aggressive, leading police to order a provisional arrest. The 21-year-old then carried out multiple acts of resistance and injured two officers, who could not continue their duties. After officers forced through the arrest, the man threatened one of the officers. Police issued a residence entry ban and an approach ban, and they also imposed a provisional weapons ban. After consulting with the Vienna public prosecutor’s office, the suspect was taken into custody at a justice facility.
