Police in 1100 Vienna arrested a 23-year-old suspect after a suspected attempted bike theft at a residential courtyard. Two people saw a man messing with bicycles parked in the courtyard and contacted the police. Officers caught the 23-year-old while he was in the act. Police say the suspect allegedly tried to cut the locking device of two bicycles that were chained together using a pair of pliers. During a search, officers found a knife in the suspect’s trouser waistband. Both the pliers and the knife were seized. After consulting the Vienna public prosecutor’s office, police reported the case and released the man on bail. Further investigations are ongoing, according to Austria Vienna Police.
