Police in Vau i Dejës have arrested a 71-year-old man who was internationally wanted by Italian authorities. Italian courts sentenced Citizen Kol Ndoj to 9 years in prison for sexual exploitation and prostitution. The decision was issued on April 23, 2021, according to police. The arrest was carried out by the Special Operations Force Directorate at the Criminal Police Department, working with the Shkodra Local Police Directorate, during an operation codenamed “Fast”. Police said the man was declared wanted through Interpol Rome. Interpol Tirana is now continuing extradition procedures with Italian authorities. Police added that another phase of the “Fast” operation is being finalized, aimed at capturing other internationally wanted people.
