Landfriedensbruch leads to arrest in Weil am Rhein
A man with an eight-month sentence was taken into custody after a border control.
Police in Weil am Rhein arrested a man wanted to serve a prison term for landfriedensbruch, a serious breach of the peace.
Officers at the Weil am Rhein Autobahn border crossing stopped a 37-year-old man on Friday evening, 30 October 2026. He told police he was traveling with companions to a wedding.
During the check, the Bundespolizei found that an arrest warrant was outstanding. A court had imposed an eight-month prison sentence for the especially serious case of landfriedensbruch earlier this year.
The man was taken into custody and handed over for detention at a prison, following the arrest by the border police.
His latest status is custody at a justices facility pending further legal processing.
