Vienna police arrested a 17-year-old and a 20-year-old after a 25-year-old was allegedly assaulted and threatened in Rotenturmstraße with an air pistol. The incident happened on 26 October 2026 at around 00:30. Investigators say the 17-year-old held an air pistol to the victim’s head and allegedly pulled the trigger several times, but the man dodged in time and was not injured. Another man, 21, was allegedly hurt when he was pushed near the ankle during the same confrontation. Police from the readiness unit in Vienna were alerted during patrol and arrested the 17-year-old and the 20-year-old. Officers seized the air pistol and a small amount of cannabis. The 25-year-old told officers he had been out with his 21-year-old friend in the city center. He said he saw a group, which included the 17-year-old, attempting to force a boy to sell something. After the 25-year-old confronted the group, the members left, but later the group returned and a renewed meeting led to the alleged blows and the air-pistol threat. The 25-year-old and the 21-year-old received medical care. The 21-year-old was taken to hospital for the ankle injury. The 17-year-old was taken to a correctional facility on orders of the Vienna public prosecutor, while the 20-year-old was reported on free. The investigation into three additional suspects identified so far as unknown is ongoing.
