Police in Vienna’s Landstraße district arrested a 40-year-old man after he resisted officers at a multi-apartment building entrance. Officers from the City Police Command Innere Stadt were called on 18.10.2026 at 21:40. Two men were reportedly making noise in the stairwell and kicking at an entrance door. When the police arrived, they found two men in front of the apartment entrance. Both appeared visibly intoxicated. The 40-year-old became increasingly loud and aggressive, mocking the officers and failing to stop after repeated orders to cease his conduct. Officers informed him of an administrative report. They also checked photo ID documents found inside the apartment and established it was the men’s home, though it was not properly registered. The men were reported under the registration law. During further clarification, the man started shouting again, waving his hands wildly and growing more aggressive. He then pushed one of the officers against the upper body. After he again refused to stop, police deployed pepper spray and detained him. An alcohol test showed 1.66 per mille. The man received medical care from the rescue service. After being questioned on the same day, he was released and made the subject of multiple reports.
