A Linienomnibus crashed into a plasterboard wall in Vienna-Simmering early on 16.10.2026, injuring two people, police said. The bus left the road from the Haidequerstraße, and a woman fell inside the vehicle. The 48-year-old suffered light injuries to her head and back. The 33-year-old bus driver was also lightly injured. Police said the driver was investigated for driving under the influence of drugs after inquiries. He was temporarily deprived of his licence and is accused in relation to negligent bodily injury in road traffic. Both victims were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital. The Traffic Accident Command of the Vienna State Traffic Department took over the further investigation.
