Woman arrested in Dudley after stolen items were posted to social media
Officers arrested a 38-year-old and the case is being handled under Mischief Fortnight.
A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in Dudley after police linked stolen items being promoted on social media to an attempted online sale.
West Midlands Police said officers were alerted to stolen goods being sold in the Dudley area. Searches through social media, working with staff from affected shops, identified items that were being offered online.
After initial enquiries, police attended an address in Lower Gornal. Officers arrested the woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
The woman has been bailed pending further enquiries by West Midlands Police, with the incident now being dealt with as part of the force’s Mischief Fortnight scheme. Officers said shops should feel comfortable reporting crime so police can investigate and identify those responsible.
