A 33-year-old woman was suspected of throwing bricks from a house roof into the courtyard in Vienna’s Wieden district. Police were called on 03.11.2026 around noon after multiple residents reported that a woman in the stairwell had thrown objects and already caused damage. Officers found damage to walls and two demolished fire extinguishers inside the stairwell. The woman was later located in the attic area, where she continued throwing objects into the interior courtyard. As the situation escalated, the Sondereinheit WEGA was brought in. During the police operation, the woman allegedly gained access to the roof via a roof hatch and threw several bricks from above into the courtyard. WEGA officers then secured the 33-year-old and brought her down from the roof to the stairwell. She was taken by ambulance to hospital. She did not make statements about the incident to the police. The woman was reported for suspected criminal damage.
