A 26-year-old man from Alba Iulia was arrested after being caught driving a vehicle without a valid driving licence and with a high alcohol level in his exhaled breath. Police stopped the autoutility on 24 October in Roșia Montană during a routine check. The man’s driving right had been annulled on 23 December 2025 following an earlier alcohol-related driving offence. Officers said the situation was made worse by the result of an etylotest. The man recorded 0.98 mg/l of pure alcohol in exhaled air. To determine his blood alcohol level, he was taken to hospital to have biological samples collected. The man is being investigated for driving without a licence and for driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances. On 25 October 2026, he is due to be presented to the prosecutor’s office attached to the Câmpeni Court for legal measures. He was retained for 24 hours.
