WBCJ and ENPE hold Zagreb workshop to strengthen cooperation on environmental crime
The Eurojust-implemented event brought together judicial partners from the Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership and EU Member States.
A regional workshop aimed at improving cross-regional judicial cooperation against environmental crime was held in Zagreb on 20–21 May 2026.
The meeting was organised under the Western Balkans Criminal Justice (WBCJ) Project, which is implemented by Eurojust, in cooperation with the European Network of Prosecutors for the Environment (ENPE). It followed a first edition workshop held in Ohrid in 2025.
According to the event description, the workshop focused on strengthening efforts to tackle environmental crime by improving judicial cooperation across different regions. The programme was designed to bring together partners from the Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership countries and EU Member States.
The WBCJ Project and ENPE described the workshop as part of ongoing work to improve how judicial actors coordinate across borders on environmental crime cases.
No information was provided in the source about specific investigations, arrests, prosecutions, or case outcomes resulting from the workshop.
The event took place as a structured exchange between judicial and prosecutorial stakeholders, reflecting the project’s emphasis on cross-regional cooperation rather than enforcement actions on a particular day.
