Zurich police seized more than 60 kilograms of drugs in Dällikon and arrested two suspects after a chase that ended with cash flying onto the road. Officers found cocaine, amphetamine, ketamine, methamphetamine and thousands of ecstasy tablets, following a dramatic attempt to flee by car. During the pursuit, a suspect threw money and a mobile phone out of the vehicle. Police arrested two men, a 48-year-old Serbian citizen and a 33-year-old Swiss citizen. The operation began after a suspicious encounter on Thursday afternoon. When officers searched the man from Serbia, they initially found about two kilograms of cocaine. The second suspect then attempted to escape by car. During the flight, the Swiss man allegedly threw more than 40,000 euros and a mobile phone through the window, while cash scattered onto the road. He was caught shortly afterwards. Police carried out follow-up searches at both suspects' homes. They seized 34 kilograms of amphetamine, 12 kilograms of cocaine, and several kilograms of ketamine, methamphetamine and cannabis. Investigators also found thousands of ecstasy tablets and prescription medicines. Authorities also seized about 30,000 Swiss francs and 57,000 euros in cash. Both men were charged with drug trafficking. The Zurich District Prosecutor’s Office requested that they be kept in pre-trial detention.
