Europol and the European Labour Authority (ELA) announced results from an action week targeting human trafficking for labour exploitation, identifying 248 potential victims and making 27 arrests. The operation, part of an EMPACT action led by Sweden, brought together police, border guards, labour and social security inspectorates, and tax authorities. It focused on exploitative practices in high-risk sectors including agriculture, construction, cosmetic services, massage parlours, and hospitality. Investigators carried out coordinated enforcement activity across participating countries as part of the week-long crackdown. The effort was designed to disrupt alleged trafficking and exploitation connected to work in these sectors. The results include 27 arrests and 248 potential victims identified during the action week. Europol and ELA said the operation involved 34 participating countries. The crackdown status is reported as completed with results published by Europol and the ELA, with arrests and victim identifications recorded during the action week.
