Carabinieri in Colle di Val d’Elsa arrested two foreign men, aged 25 and 22, accused of holding drugs for the purpose of dealing. The suspects were spotted in a Volkswagen Polo driving irregularly along the Strada dei Mille. When Carabinieri moved in, the two men tried to avoid the control but were stopped with the help of a second police vehicle. The men could not provide a justification for being in Colle di Val d’Elsa. Both are residents of other communes in the province. Police searched the car after noticing a strong smell of drugs. During the operation, four hashish bricks were found hidden under the floor mats, split into two packages, with a total weight of 400 grams. The two suspects were arrested in flagrante and taken before the judicial authority. They were admitted to house arrest at their respective residences while waiting for the validation hearing. At this stage, they are accused of the offence for which they were arrested, and their position will be assessed by the competent judicial authority.
