Eurojust raids into faulty body armour procurement alleged to cost EUR 53m
French and Ukrainian authorities searched in an investigation into substandard equipment for Ukraine’s armed forces.
French and Ukrainian authorities, coordinated by Eurojust, carried out searches over the procurement of faulty body armour for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Investigators said the deal caused losses of more than EUR 53 million. The operation focused on suspicions connected to substandard protective equipment being supplied as part of the procurement.
The searches were conducted as part of a joint investigation led through Eurojust’s coordination. The underlying allegation is that the procurement led to financial damage, linked to the use of body armour described as substandard.
The latest status is that the matter is still being handled as an investigation, with searches carried out as part of the probe coordinated by Eurojust.
