Two men have been detained over an alleged TITO ticket fraud worth around €45,000 at a gaming venue in Morro Jable, Fuerteventura, police said. The Guardia Civil carried out the investigation under operation PIAO after the site’s manager reported irregularities in prize payments. The probe began in September 2026, with investigators saying the fraud may have continued for roughly 15 months, between June 2025 and September 2026. Police allege the suspects used duplicated tickets from the TITO system, Ticket-In, Ticket-Out, which gaming machines use to load credits and pay out prizes. By presenting forged vouchers, they are accused of collecting prize money fraudulently and causing losses estimated at €45,000 for the establishment. Investigators from the Área de Investigación del Puesto Principal de Morro Jable reviewed security camera footage and identified irregularities linked to certain customers. The additional police work then led to the identification of the suspects and their arrest. During the operation, officers seized €2,809 in cash from one of the detainees and recovered a large number of tickets believed to be falsified. The case file was handed to the Sección de Instrucción of the Tribunal de Instancia de Puerto del Rosario, operating on duty. The two detained men were placed at the court’s disposal following the arrests. The investigation was made public on 21 October 2026.
