International investigation identifies over 70 potential victims exploited in Indian restaurants
Two people were arrested during a coordinated action on 18 September 2026.
An international investigation has identified more than 70 potential victims who were allegedly exploited in Indian restaurants, Europol said.
The coordinated action was carried out on 18 September 2026 and resulted in the arrest of two people. Investigators allege that the traffickers forced victims to work up to 16 hours a day, underpaid them, and prevented them from leaving the country.
Authorities estimate that the criminal network generated at least EUR 4 million in illicit profits through the underpayment and exploitation of workers.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details were not provided in the information released by Europol.
