Man and woman charged in Waterford arson attack after fatal fire
They are due before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court at about 4.30pm.
A man and a woman charged in connection with a fatal arson attack in Waterford city will appear in court this afternoon.
The accused are a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s. They will face a special sitting of Clonmel District Court at around 4.30pm on Saturday, October 17.
Gardaí arrested both people on Thursday as part of their investigation into the fatal house fire in Birchwood earlier this week.
Philip and Kim English, along with their children Callum and Jayden, died in the fire at a house in Birchwood, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Gardaí say they are continuing to appeal for information about the incident and want anyone who was in the vicinity of Birch Avenue, Birchwood, between 4.30am and 5.30am to come forward. They are also asking anyone driving in the area or on adjoining roads during the same time window who has dashcam footage or images for investigators.
The investigation team can be contacted at the incident room at Waterford Garda Station, the Garda Confidential Line, or any Garda Station.
The pair remain charged and due to appear before court later on Saturday as gardaí continue their enquiries.
