Polish authorities are on alert after they received information about a possible attack targeting Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the national defence minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who is also vicepremier. Security services have convened for an emergency meeting, with officials urging preparedness. The notice was shared publicly on X by Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesperson for the minister coordinator of special services, and by Karolina Gałecka, spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior. A scheduled meeting at 11:00 local time, 12:00 in Romania, involves representatives of the Internal Security Agency and services under the Ministry of the Interior, including the police and the State Protection Service. Up to the time of publication, Polish officials had not detailed what the threat involves. No arrests linked to this case had been announced. The emergency move comes amid a broader climate of high alert in Poland following violence in schools. A school caretaker died on Thursday after an incident that authorities linked to the increased security concern. In September, police detained a 56-year-old man from Przemyśl after he posted a video on social media in which he threatened Donald Tusk. Police also detained a 52-year-old man from Oława over alleged threats against the prime minister, published online and discovered in August. For the case to continue, the victim had to file a complaint and a request for criminal prosecution, which was signed by Donald Tusk. Security services were meeting on an emergency basis as the investigation into the latest threat information continues.
