Police raid Mallorca’s La Soledad, detaining 21 in clan crackdown
The operation involved 200 agents, 48 property seizures, and a tunnel under a pool.
Spanish National Police carried out a major crackdown on the clan of ‘El Pablo’ in Palma, Mallorca, with 200 agents and 21 arrests.
The operation, deployed on Tuesday 6 October in the La Soledad district, ended with 21 people detained and placed at judicial disposal on Friday 9 October. Officers also seized 48 properties, alongside vehicles, jewellery, firearms and several drug packages.
Police described one of the most striking findings after a search at the leader’s home, a tunnel excavated beneath a small structure beside a swimming pool. The passaged area runs about twenty metres and includes several depth points, with internal cavities investigated as possible hideouts or caches.
Investigators say the property is a fortified complex built after unifying older, modest homes bought over time since 1996, with the municipal registry listing the nine original houses rather than the later unified mansion. The police investigation links the clan’s wealth to suspected drug trafficking revenues, alleging purchases worth around 20 million euros, with 48 properties embargoed.
The investigation drew on two parallel probes, ‘Tsunami’ and ‘Galba’, focusing on what the clan was doing with its profits in La Soledad. Police claim that reforms to create fortified points of sale and concealed spaces were funded through a network using front men, private contracts as cover and alleged false donations.
The police partnership with the Tax Agency’s Customs Surveillance service supported the seizure of assets by tracing finances through hundreds of bank accounts, notarial protocols and tax filings.
