Police accuse man of scamming “partner” into 135,000 zł fraud
Officers say the scheme ran from 2024 to 2026 and could bring up to eight years.
Miechów police say a 38-year-old man allegedly used a business setup to steal from a woman, accused of frauds totaling more than 135,000 zł. The suspect is said to have convinced his acquaintance to start a company and then repeatedly acted as its “employee” to carry out the wrongdoing.
Officers from the Operational and Reconnaissance Unit of the Miechów District Police Headquarters gathered information pointing to a string of scams committed between 2024 and 2026. The man faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to eight years.
Police say the woman became the vehicle for the alleged scheme when she opened a business at the suspect’s prompting. From there, he is accused of carrying out a series of frauds on the firm’s behalf by operating as a “worker” within the company.
The case is now in the hands of investigators, with charges pending as prosecutors pursue the alleged acts described by police.
