Police found 9.45 grams of cocaine after the arrest, later convalidated by a judge.
A 41-year-old man is accused of throwing cocaine at Carabinieri during an incident at the station in Tombolo.
He allegedly arrived at the caserma in the early afternoon of 21 October with a hostile attitude, slamming the entrance gate and threatening to kill a carabiniere. When officers told him to calm down, he allegedly attacked them, throwing a cellophane ball that was recovered and found to contain cocaine.
Carabinieri arrested the man in flagrante. The case was handled by the Carabinieri Station of Tombolo, with charges of resistance to a public official and illegal possession of narcotic substances.
A subsequent search of his home led to the seizure of another nine cocaine doses, hidden inside a cabinet. The total weight recovered was 9.45 grams. Officers also found a precision scale. All the material was seized.
After the arrest, on instructions from the Prosecutor’s Office of Padua, the 41-year-old was taken to the Due Palazzi prison in Padua while awaiting the court validation hearing.
At the hearing held the morning after, the judge convalidated the arrest and ordered daily appearances for the man to sign at the Carabinieri Station in Tombolo.
